From the very start i had decieded that Nike was just a trade for me because i bought it when it was in the lower part of the 52 week range at $ 87.32. I knew with all the sports and holidays coming that it would be a good stock to buy into for a short period of time. This week i decided to short sell Nike. I thought this would be a good idea because I am losing money and there is basketball season around the corner. I believe that with the up coming sports season this stock will go up atleast 5 dollars and I will be earning my money back. More and more people will be buying into this stock because they price will be so good and that will cause the price per share to go up. I bought Nike for $ 87.32. Already over the course of the last month this price has gone up to $ 92.97. I believe that as the sports season gets closer this price will continue to rise at a steady pace until it gets to about $95.00, which is the max for the 52 week chart.
Needs more information about the competitors, 52 week information and an exact amount on the raise not just 5 dollars.. Other than that right on
ReplyDeleteI don't think you have a complete grasp of short selling. When you short sell it's still a trade but your catalyst should be something that will reduce the price of the stock, not increase it. If the stock increases in price after you short sell you will actually be losing money not making it. So you may want to hurry and cover that stock before the catalyst happens and then buy Nike stock. You also need more info about the 52 week range, competitors, sector, and exact numbers of how much it's worth now.
ReplyDeletenot to bad short and to the point kinda, needs a little bit more information like numbers how much it was maybe some thing about other competitors and 52 week stuff.
ReplyDeleteGreat student comments. Short selling = hope stock goes down!
